The Forklift Operator is responsible for using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count pallets and materials. Their average day will have them operating a sit-down forklift. They will use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, and storing as required. The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. This is a full-time position, and the ideal candidate will have 1+ year(s) of experience in a relevant field and a current Forklift Certification.

Expectations and Duties:

  • Load and unload pallets and various products to designated storage areas – including: scrap trailer and pallet trailer
  • Register inbound shipments and load outbound shipments
  • Read production schedule and orders to determine where items are to be moved, gathered, or distributed
  • Maintain shipping/receiving paperwork
  • Pull and prepare pallets for shipment as scheduled
  • Pick orders accurately and pay attention to detail
  • Maintain the company’s equipment and materials in a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Perform daily equipment checks which may involve lubricating truck, recharging batteries, filling fuel tank, or replacing liquefied gas tank
  • Report any issues to appropriate management for resolution
  • Complete the job following proper safety requirements
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • Current Forklift Certification is required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Able to lift, carry, and push, over 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Must have relevant experience (minimum 1 year)
  • Experience in Logistics Operations preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and friendly attitude
